Play and the Inner Child as Artist

Giving voice

Creating Space

Encouraging expression

For the child within to play IS the state of being that allows you to access new levels of awareness, potential, and fulfillment in life.

The child is the creative within you.

The inner kid is the exquisite artist that eagerly awaits for your permission to create the masterpiece.

Your life is the masterpiece that can only be created through play.

The inner child is the one who plays.

How much space do you allow for play in your life?

I notice a deep correlation between the amount of playfulness in one’s life and the perception and embodiment of fulfillment, success, and happiness.

Appropriately, yet counter to popular narrative,

The most financially wealthy folks I know are the one most devoted to play.

There is NOT an inverse correlation between play and wealth like we all had been taught our whole lives.

We have been programmed to believe that the heart wont pay the  bills.

That if you follow these dreams you will struggle.

That it’s only a fantasy.

These are all 100% correct.

Following your heart will radically reprogram your relationship to money.

You will unlearn everything you know and start with nothing.

You will undoubtedly struggle,

And your life will indeed feel like a fantasy.

You can count on being misunderstood yet awe-inspiring at the same time.

On the flip side,

Everyone I know that follows the contemporary path experiences these limitation but without ever transcending them.

Not following your heart will lead you to financial struggle.

Living out of alignment will cause plenty of struggle,

and it’s a fantasy to believe that such a life will give fulfillment.

This is the ultimate paradox.

The very voice that programs us at a young age is the very voice that projects exactly the qualities they are trying to “help” you avoid,

The radical truth is:

You will experience the same amount of hardship and struggle in whatever path you choose, but only one path is the path that you yearn for with all of your heart.

The yearning of your heart is the child within beckoning you to the life you know is possible.

It will only cost you everything you thought you wanted,

But it will give you everything you truly needed and more.

Listening to that little child within call your name saying,

“Kev Kev Kev, let me try, let me try, I can do it!” is the greatest gift you can give yourself.

Your inner child still has those pure eyes to see what you can no longer see.

Your inner child still has the heart to create without bounds.

Your true artist is not bounded by the false barriers that you adopt to be true.

It is your sacred duty to listen to your inner child and at the very least collaborate from time to time.

You can connect to your inner child at any moment through play.

-        What was your favorite colored crayon?

-        When was the last time you climbed a tree?

-        Where in nature do you feel completely in imagination?

These are some of your most powerful allies.

Imagine the potential if you created space for your inner child to play once a week?

Go for a walk and sing a random jingle you made up.

Pick up the charcoal and smear it on a big piece of paper.

Eat your favorite ice cream in the morning.

Whatever it may be.

Your inner child has the answers you didn’t know you needed.

Listen with an open heart and gentle patience as you would you own kin.

“When we rediscover our childlike nature, we enter into a world of gentle possibility.”
