3 Protocols to Boost Creativity Fast

You’ve been on the brink of burnout for 7 months, maybe even 7 years.

You’ve seen the negative effects of productivity on your vitality.

You feel creative, but not creatively fulfilled.

I see you, I know you – I’ve been there.

Here’s 3 quick protocols I use to enhance creative aliveness fast.

Protocol 1: Somatically mapping the void:

To primer this,

burnout = over-extension

In order to over extend one area of life, I am forced to abandon another area of life.

That abandonment is stored somewhere in my system.

I  MUST daylight this void to return to wholeness, creativity, and vitality.

Here’s how:

1.      What am I over-stressing in my system right now?

2.      What’s the intuitive opposite of that?

3.      What part of my body reacts to the intuitive opposite?

Give attention to that sensation, it will bring balance.

2.  Is it true?

99% of my behavior is a reaction to our subconscious narrative.

Past pain projects future fear, so I try to predict and protect myself from repeating the same.

The problem: I create exactly what I avoid.

The re-wire:

Trace the story backward.

1.      I stayed up all night working.

why?

2.      I needed everything to be perfect.

why?

3.      If it’s not perfect, I’ll feel like I’m not good enough.

why?

4.      Because part of me believes I’m not good enough.

Does that feel real?

5.      yes.

Is it true?

6.      …

Is it true?

7.      … no

exactly

In the absence of the stories that bind me to patterns of reaction, I become empowered to respond to life more creatively.

More creative responses to life and circumstance breed more natural fulfillment and joy in the process.

3.  10 % more alive

With access to parts me I previously neglected and with a question mark behind my self-narrative, what is one thing I can do to feel 10% more alive today.

Trust the natural responses to that question.

If I’ve been overstressing my mind to be productive, I can hike to the top of a waterfall, get naked, and trudge up the river for 2 miles.

That immediately gets me out of my mind, and into my body.

It brings aliveness to my entire system from the neck-down.

It’s liberating.

Despite how far we teeter on the edge of burnout, we always have access to space-making for the things that re-calibrate our systems.

The key is to identify and to be radically honest with ourselves when we push the boundaries of our dynamic balancing points.

Attune to those outer points, and do a check-in when you’re closing in on them.

My hope is that with simple protocols like these you can cultivate creative vitality like an everyday practice in your life.
